Torchwood - Season Three

A rundown of what we already know about Torchwood's third season - POTENTIAL SPOILERS!

CONFIRMED! The series will be 5 episodes long, which will act as one giant story arc that tells just one adventure, broadcast over one week (on BBC One) as "event television" early 2009.

Filming begins in August.

24/6/2008: There's the possibility that Martha Jones and Mickey Smith will join the Torchwood team following the events of the Doctor Who season four finale...

Further updates will follow when appropriate. Please include your own comments below if we've excluded something from the list.

I noticed that too, YAY for James Marsters. He's also playing a gig at the Point in July (while he's here).

I just found out where the tardis/torchwood studio is and I live like 2 minutes away. I'm so chuffed.
(Sorry but I'm easily pleased :-D)

In case you hab't spotted it yet there is a missing poster which makes me think there is a sizeable time gap between Jack leaving Cardiff on the tardis and getting back home.

From James Marsters Live :

'Celtic Blues - The Event', an intimate fan event, is limited to just 150 seated tickets and is being held at gothic-style former church and live music venue The Point in the heart of Cardiff Bay.

James will be joined by Torchwood actor Gareth David Lloyd, who plays Ianto Jones in the hit BBC series, and a further guest (to be announced).

In the evening James will be appearing on stage in the 'Celtic Blues Concert', also to be held at The Point, to mark the European launch of his new album.

Also featured are Gareth David Lloyd and his Blues Band as support.

The Event costs £90.00 and includes autographs, talks and screenings, photographs and a priority admission to the evening concert if you have a concert ticket.

The evening concert's price is £20.00.

How can they even call that a "season"? I'd refer to it as 2.5 or something, certainly not Series 3 - ! I'm happy there's going to be more but sorely disappointed that this is it... and their appearance in this week's Doctor Who is nice but I want *more*!

Sorry I can't ID myself -- don't have my WordPress set up yet.

What is the deal with only 5 episodes? It smells funny, like the show isn't smiled upon any more.

I recently went to cardiff and they were filming a scene in the bay, outside the Millennium Centre where 'the hub' is.
The scene was at night, there was lots of fire and rubble with this huge mass of rubble and bricks and that sort of thing with fire and smoke. And Gwen lying on the floor nearby, then she'd stand up, stagger around and run toward the rubble, then two paramedics would run at her and grab her and drag her away, with her shouting and screaming
"No! My friends are under there!" etc.

That was the only scene that we got to see :(

I am so sad that they aren't even replaying any episodes. I love the show and to find out only 5 episodes for the season. I guess beggers can't be choosers. I just wish it was more :(
