Jack and Gwen?!

In the build up to Torchwood's debut Down Under, Australia's "The West" newspaper has published an interview with actress Eve Myles. She talks about how honoured she felt when Russell T Davies wrote the role of Gwen Cooper especially for her, and goes on to talk about the many relationships that Gwen has had, and may have, in Torchwood - including an interesting glimpse at what might be between herself and Jack Harkness...

“Well, there’s a palpable love there. I think it’s not so much physical sex in the first series because there’s other characters in there that we have affairs with... yes, naughty Gwen, but I think it’s the extremity of her job with all the tensions of work and not being able to share her world with anybody. But with Jack and Gwen, it’s the real thing and they’re going to make you wait for that.”
Elsewhere and details have been released about the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine (number 384) which is set to be released next Thursday. It'll contain a preview of "Last of the Time Lords" and interviews with both Derek Jacobi and John Simm. What's more it looks like next month we'll have a full on interview with John Barrowman to look forward to...

In addition to that, the official BBCi Doctor Who site has been updated to cover this week's "The Sound of Drums". There's the usual highlights - including a picture gallery with new images of John Barrowman as Captain Jack. Clicky here to visit the episode guide, and explore the mad and crazy world of Harry Saxon - everybody's favourite Prime Minister.

Everybody, including Sharon Osbourne and boyband McFly, clearly loves the man...

They took the dark path! They did Jack/ Gwen! I hope not. That pairing sooo obvious. ANyway, I'll go now.

I'll absolutely not watch the show if Gwen gets together with Jack. I find Gwen to be personally annoying and as flirty as Jack is, I don't think it's in character.

Gwen drives me crazy! I really wouldn't like the Jack / Gwen pairing but I am VERY pro Jack / Ianto because they are lovely together and clearly like each other.

Jack should juggle Gwen and Ianto until a) Gwen gives up in disgust. b) Ianto finds a way to ressurrect Lisa and sets her on Gwen.

(Partly kidding... :-)

So, St.Gwenie with her super humane, compassionate AND all accommodating vajayjay strikes again. ugh!
I was really looking forward to more of Jack/Ianto in season 2, but now meh...what a waste of such intriguing and sexy set up.

I would love Gwen and Jack to get together! At the the end of episode eight when Gwen nearly died there was a lingering look between Jack and Gwen when jack was walking into the hub (watch it again people, its there, trust me) and OMG i thought something really big was going to happen because the chemistry was soooo there!

Gwen and Jack? How disappointing. How vanilla and so 'mainstream' for a show that has such great potential of blowing off those little 'soapie' love affairs so typical of other, lesser shows. I think Jack's love of men should be explored further. If kiddies want to see soppy ship shite, watch a show aimed at teens then. Not something with this potential. I think Gwen and Jack 'in lurve' would ruin the show, but their 'deep care' is very special and shouldn't be cheapened by 'lurve'... Sorry, if this is the way they are going, I'm disappointed in Barrowman's influence as a gay man making strides on normally dull, straight tv. We get this kind of shite on every other show, I thought Torchwood was stronger than that.

OMFG that look is so there. I would like J and G to get together as they so have the chemistry (the glances at each other people, the glances!), but I also like the Ianto/Jack idea as they evidently have the hots for each other.

"there are a lot of things you can do with a stopwatch"!

I'll admit I'm an avid Jack/Ianto fan but I'm not going to give you a typical fangirl OMG NO WAI type argument.
I'm sorry I don't understand how Jack could get with Gwen after he enforces her to keep her personal life together and also I really don't think Gwens character is wonderfully thought through if she was hired to be the moral fibre of the group when all she seems to do is sleep with her co-workers. I agree with the arguement another anonymous gave, that it seems a bit dull, predictable and soo bloody typical of british television to have a nice heterosexual relationship develop between the main characters. I dealt with the Grissom/Sara thing on CSI and I'll stop watching if it happens with Torchwood

I am a Jack/Gwen fan but despite what it says in this interview I fear it won't happen.

The couples I want to get together rarely do. I was a Greg/Sara shipper on CSI.

So you Jack/Ianto fans can probably rest easy.

I think that a Jack/Gwen pairing is cool, me and a friend have been saying it for a while but not many people agreed. It's good to know that we beat the writers (sort of) as we had the idea from ages ago (at least, before countrycide)

I would love for Jack and Gwen to have a romantic relationship but I do hope it will be slowly build up because the chemistry they have in the "romantic" scenes we have seen so far are incredible!

i was kind of stupid and watched season 3, then season 2 then season 1. So ianto and jack were together and adorable and the first thing i saw was the tragic death and then season two had it's cute moments when they first become kinda committed and everything was so sad becasue i knew how it ended. And so Qwen and Jack just never made sense it was if Qwen had her cake, was eating it and then decided no wait i prefer that flavour over this one. it's bad enough they kill off every single character but if qwen and jack shack up it would be too much. and don't get be started on the double standards and contridicting character traits. JANTO FOREVER

Hate Gwen, adore Jack/Ianto = Janto. I never could see the "skills" of Gwen in the team, and her "humanity" killed people. This carácter is really annoying, and RTD writed it especially for Eve, I thing i´ll never see nothing written by him (because his obsession for Gwen / Eve definitely ruined the show, the lead character is Jack! and the heart of TW will be always Ianto Jones)
