OK as reported by me two weeks ago and disputed by many - let me again tell you that we have seen the last series of TORCHWOOD.
Now let me fill you all in on the latest news... Richard Stokes' departure must have given you all some clue after all...
It seems that cos of JBs hectic schedule - Torchwood has finished for now in its present state. What will be filmed however, and later than normal, are 5 stand alone episodes. AND THEN THAT WILL BE IT !!!

Can someone verify this? The blogmaster, maybe?

"Can someone verify this? The blogmaster, maybe?"

I don't think it really can be verified, until the BBC confirm everything themselves. Everything's just rumour really, and i've heard all these before elsewhere.

And what's with all the double posting by the way, 'BBCinsider' ?!?!

In my professional experience, anyone who double-posts and says things like "My word is true - honest! I work in the BBC Drama dept." and then signs as anonymous is a dubous source to say the least. If our anonymous source were legit, he/she would have emailed one of us who is running the blog and given us a creadible lead to work from. But, neither us, Outpost Galifrey or any other credible source to date has officially broken this, so please don't accept this as anonymous posting as legitimate until confirmed by a trusted source.

Thank you for posting this, Tremas. I'm a regular reader here and I must admit that anonperson's Multiposting of Doom had me worried, despite the fact I thought it was probably trollspam.

So... no-one's picked up on the action figures?

(Could be because they're a bit... ugh)

That last bit 'bbc insider' made it sound completely untrue

OK, thanks folks--some of us are getting scared that we've seen the last of the gang at the hub. I mean, with Tosh and Owen and all. . .well, you know.

Well like I said; the posting is dubious. I am not prepared to confirm or deny this. I have taken the time to search about this on the internet, and there are similar "anonymous" postings about, but nothing definative. Could this be true? Yes. Could it be false? Yes. I really don't know to respond, and the resources I use offer no indication either way.
What we do know at this point is that Torchwood is very popular, and gets strong ratings worldwide. The BBC has also referenced Torchwood and Doctor Who recently as models of what does work for them. So if I may offer my speculation, I would think it would be bad for the BBC to just arbitrarily cancel Torchwood, unless they have a plan for Torchwood that would capitalize on its popularity. [Of course, bear in mind that I am the American here, so I don't have the luxury of reading the various British tabloids each day that carry BBC gossip as some of my more learned colleagues here do. So take my comments with a grain of salt.]

tremas, I'm American, too, but I live in the UK. I don't read tabloids, but I can say that when we watched John Barrowman on a show recently (gah, he's been on so many I can't recall which, but I think it was his appearance on Ready Steady Cook) he mentioned that he'd be shooting the next series of Torchwood. He also said it would be verrrry different for them. I don't know if he meant different because they had lost two members of the Hub team, or for some other reason.

Anyway, from the horse's mouth, as it were, JB himself has said there will be more Torchwood.

Double posting is an error made only because the BBC computers were playing up and at one point I didn't think you'd received the post. I was with JB at White City last week and he IS coming back as Capt Jack - and the difference is exactly as reported.
5 one-off episodes to tie up lose ends and then it's finished, with the odd other spin off (perhaps)but that's to be decided. With our Head of Dept off to pastures new, RTD already saying he won't write for TW anymore and the two TW Producers also not coming back -it's going to be a very different situation at TW. I am not a spoof - I have reported the truth in the past - I do work for the BBC drama dept and yes, I have dropped the occasional red herring - but this is the truth - believe me or not. You'll soon see that I was telling the truth. I just thought as you're all such fans you'd like to know the situation. If you'd rather not know just say...

Well, BBC Insider, next time you see the handsome JB or anyone else with Torchwood, please let them know how much the Yanks love it, as well as Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures. Some of us are chewing our nails waiting for the Season 2 DVD to arrive in the US, and would be completely broken-hearted to find out that we'd never see Torchwood again. They all did a fantastic job and it's just too good to let go of.

Thanks.

Thanks Amy,
Perhaps you're better off bombarding the BBC with your comments. No-one here wants to see it go...but who are we to comment?? We're going to miss Dr Who... it takes a break for a year, SJA may be back for a third -depending on what you all think of this next batch, but TW is still as reported.

'bbc insder'

If you really are one and you know so much why are you coming TW fansite???
if you do know then you surely cant be allowed to post comments about it, especially on a computer at the BBC itself......

Folks;
Regarding our BBCInsider, I would love to get the opportunity to chat with him one-on-one. it would help me support what he is offering to the group. I suspect that if truthful, what he is offering to us is putting his employment with the BBC at great risk, and so I want to make sure that his personal needs are considered along with the information he provides.

I would say that I have a few questions that I would be itching to ask myself that he may be able to answer... :)

Ask away... I have a wireless PC - it's my own that I carry everywhere. Yes logging in under the bbc pc would give me away and jobs here are already going so why put myself in that predicament, as in lots of places, it's not what you know but who and working here may sound glam but its not - it's hard to work out who's being straight with you and who'd stab you in the back - it's not pleasant.

I come to the fansite to see what questions you have and try to get the answers cos no-one else here cares about doing so. Sorry but true. And also sorry, a one-to-one may not be a good idea, not at the current climate the way it is, just post your questions and I'll do my best to get them answered.

You might say that very soon there will be an announcement with regards to TW - and now you all know that RTD has left DW, keep an ear out for news on that too..

Hey bbcinsider, I don't believe a word out of your mouth. Do you have anyone else that can confirm the rumor or are you just looking for a fight? Torchwood has a lot of fans and I know most read this blog so it could get ugly. I believe you are also possibly a hacker or a troll as well.

Regardless of the future of Torchwood... I think the real shocker here is that uber bad actress Freema Agyeman has been cast in anything with a budget of any kind.... let alone, a period drama.
