Torchchat!

Starz has just launched a new branch of their forum just for Torchwood fans!

http://community.starz.com/t5/Torchwood/Welcome/td-p/59535

Here's the official place to go and talk Torchwood. You can also follow @torchwood_starz on twitter for updates, including a look at the first publicity posters for Torchwood: The New World. The photos are recycled from Children of Earth, but it's still pretty cool.

I am so glad that Starz is encouraging the Torchwood love, especially since it's still a year until broadcast. Even crumbs are better than what we've had since COE aired.

What is wrong with you people? It hasn't even started yet and you're hating on it. It's got Jack and Gwen at least!

This is quintessentially an British program. Americans will sanitize it and destroy the edge. What a waste!

Jack - have you seen Spartacus??? Starz doesn't shy away from sexuality or nudity. Plus, it's still RTD & Julie Gardner running things. If anything, I think that having it run on a pay channel will keep us from having pixilated butt crack, at the very least!

I'll be interested to see where it goes. I miss Ianto too, but I also trust Mr Barrowman to deliver and I trust his judgement. I don't believe he would play a character he loves so much if the script was bad. I can't say I loved Gwen either but every character has its reason for being. Give it a chance, then judge. I'd love to see Ianto brought back, after all, other characters have been resurrected but this is not Dr Who and the stories have a different flavour. As a Brit I am keen to see how Starz influences the style of production. However, I am still proud that this is a Brit show being given a wider audience.

I recently started watching this show. I live in Wilson, NC and I find it amusing that my most favorite show is turned out by the BBC. This is a great show. I love the characters and the story lines. I am glad that we have started getting this show, although the episodes they are showing here are from 2008. I hope they continue to carry this program. I only watch about two hours of TV a day, at most, and one hour is devoted to Torchwood Monday through Friday.

Did anybody here go to to the 2011 Dr. Who convention in LA? Cush Jumbo was cool!

Anyone see the feet in the garbage 13 minutes into episode 2 of season 1? Totally random and freaky. Characters don't even acknowledge it.

OK, I have to say I was pleased to see that Starz will at least be carrying Torchwood, I just had Dish Network installed. They gave me a choice of free HBO, Starz or Cinamax. I chose HBO Originally, then I saw add for Torchwood on Starz, I called and switched to Starz!! Than you Starz I thought I would not be able to watch Torchwood!! John Barrowman Yes!! You Go Eve Myles and Kai Owen. Looking forward to what comes this season, or this series as those from across to pond like to call them. Good luck!!

Very positive, insightful review of last night's episode: http://tvrot.com/2011/07/torchwood-the-new-world/

I just watched the first episode in Canada. They have americanized Torchwood and it is awful.

I just watched it and it was terrible. It is way too Americanised, the acting was awful, and it is no longer torchwood anymore. Everything that makes torchwood what it is, what it was has gone scraped and thrown away. They have killed it. I feel like they've left behind the original fans in the UK and US to find a new one, how selfish. I guarantee this will be its last season, R.I.P TORCHWOOD

I have just watched the first episode of the new series. Awful, Why change a programme that worked! its more of an American spin off!! Goodbye Torchwood, i will miss you.

What happened to this site? It seems officially dead. No posts in a year! If I'd known that the new writers for this site were gonna do nothing I would have put myself forward! In contrast to the other comments I'm quite enjoying miracle day. yeah its different and a bit too american but the show had to evolve to keep running. I'll stick it out and see how it turns out!

The best television show since the Sopranos. I guess one good series every decade is all we can expect. No matter what happens season 1 and 2 will attain cult status.
