If Pounds Were Dollars

So last night, at the end of a rather busy Mothering Sunday here in Britain, I decide to have an early night and tuck up in bed. Switching the television on I almost jump out of my skin as I see, via an extreme close up, the rather attractive Indira Varma staring at me. The actress (Torchwood's very own morally wrong Suzie Costello) was starring in the CBS series "3lbs".

For anybody who doesn't know Indira plays the role of Dr. Adrienne Holland, one of two opposing doctors fighting to cure their patients - or rather, she did, until the series was cancelled after only three episodes had aired (and just eight episodes recorded). Never the less, the BBC bought the series - for a staggering $500,000 per episode! Not bad for a show that's already been axed...

If you're interesting in the show, and want to chat to other fans about it - and Indira too! - then head on over to its tv.com page. Seems like Indira doesn't have the best of luck when it comes to picking recurring roles on shows. First "Rome", then "Torchwood" and now this. Lets hope her latest offering is a better vehicle...

As well as starring in the Winona Ryder / Neil Fynn movie "Sex and Death 101" Indira has also recorded an appearence in an adaption of Larry McMurty's novel "Comanche Moon" which is still in the post-production stages, and will air as a mini-series later in the year. After that, who knows what lies next for Indira?

A possible return to Torchwood year two wouldn't go a-miss though...
