Sarah Jane Investigates!

The latest issue of DWM confirms what fans have been saying for months already: Elisabeth Sladen's character 'Sarah Jane Smith', former companion to the Doctor, is getting her own series for Children's BBC.

"SARAH JANE INVESTIGATES" - BBC ONE, 2007

The series is called "Sarah Jane Investigates" and will be created as a one hour pilot episode, forecast to air around New Year's Day over here in the UK. If that's susscessful, no doubt a full series will follow - no doubt on CBBC itself.

The pilot episode (25 years on from k9 and Company) will be written by Russell T Davies and Gareth Roberts, and will be directed by Torchwood's very own Colin Teague. The producer is Susie Liggat.

Although the series doesn't really cover Torchwood.tv's remit, we'll be sure to keep you guys updated on what will one day be known as Doctor Who's second best spin-off (following Torchwood of course).

So, how bout it, 40 episodes of Doctor Who related fun next year? I'm in Heaven!

Another spin off... wow. Just... wow. Too bad it's not something cooler... although at least Davies is writing for it... he'll make sure it's good. :D

As a major fan of SJS, all I can say is: I CAN'T WAIT!

No mention of K9 in your post - will there be K9? My daughter cried when she thought he was blown up, and she keeps bugging me to when he will be back!

I dunno about it, Torchwood as a spin off is fantastic but the last time sarah jane had a spin off it didn't get past the pilot (K9 and company), one spin off is good but if they try and do too much doctor who stuff they might ruin it! Only time will tell and i'm gonna watch it just see what it's like...
