I have a message for the production team; when I first heard of the fact torchwood would be a new show I also heared an interview by R.T.D. saying that it would be 'adult' but wouldn't indulge in teenage blood, gore, shots of owen having sex for 15 min., etc. Most of which (excluding owen's far too present ass) went and came randomly throughout the episodes, for example in my opinion the episode countrycide was one of the worst in this regard (also had a storyline that didn't quite hang together but you just need to click on the countrycide link to the left to see them).
If I had one message to the team doing torchwood it would be; get some continuity of style so you know what type of show you're doing and secondly tell chris chirnoble that you need to keep in the genre of disindulgement (a word now if ever it was).
Having said this it looks like I must hate the show but I don't of course, constructive criticism is all (I have a vested interest)
i love torchwood and watch it every week, the week the dvd was out i made my dad go and get it. my fave actor is john barrowman and the last two shows were great
i agree with nicola
I thought the "adult" aspects were mostly fantastic, and that the first season was fairly impressive, with the final 2 episodes of the season really hitting it out of the park on a grand scale. The show obviously takes place in the same universe as Doctor Who & Sarah Jane, but it has it's own voice, and while it's not as polished as it could be, I think you got more right than wrong. Keep up the great work!
Me and all my friends LOVe torchwood its like a religion to us and its all we ever talk about! I loved everyone of them (although the Random Shoes one seemed a bit pointless!) We were all so shocked at the last episode and we're all currently suffering torchwood withdrawl symptoms! So i made my mum go and buy the dvd (seeing as none of us look 15! Even though we are!) :D:D w8in 4 series 2.....
LOVE Torchwood. In the US we just finished Season 1 and I have preordered the DVD. BBC America will start Season 2 in January so YEAH! The only note I would have is that they continue to not get so caught up with Jack and Gwen that we don't continue to see character development with Owen, Toshiko and Ianto. It's a great cast with complex characters, a truly great ensem. (And I say that even though I have a bit of a crush on Jack. And Gwen. And Jack)
