Uno Dos Tres Cuatro!

El Capitán Jack will be heading to the airwaves of Spain in the near future. Spanish terrestrial broadcaster Cuatro has picked up season one of Torchwood according to Variety. They don't mention if the show will be subtitled or dubbed. I'm hoping for the latter, that way I can play the show for my new neighbors in their native language.

So it looks like we will soon have a need for a Spanish Torchwood site. There is a Dutch Torchwood site already, but speakers of Spanish and every other language have been forced to use the less-then-perfect Google Translation service. Click here to see what a Spanish Madera De La Antorcha blog might look like.

That's the second time I've seen a non-UK source think Primeval is a BBC series.

Sadly, we Spaniards dub everything. I usually hate it, but I'm curious about how they're going to translate it, and how the series will work in Spain. Doctor Who has only aired on cable, so most viewers will have no idea on who is the Doctor, and why Jack is immortal...

Funny how the Google translation service translate Captain Jack as Capitán Gato (Cat)!

Captain Cat :P cute, shame the Tenth Doctor has such an aversion to them!

I wasn't aware the tenth Doctor had an aversion to cats. Can you remind me please?

It will dubbed because the Law in Spain states that all tv shows and movies on cinema must be in Spanish, specially when its going to be broadcast on public tv.

Ok thanks for the info, can't wait to hear what the cast sounds like in Spanish.

Remember in the episode with the scribble monster??? And the cat turns into a drawing like the rest of the world???

Anyway I SAY NO DUBBING!!!!

If you want an advert against dubbing just watch the english dub of run lola run... so fake... never works as well as if you have the real audio, even if you don't understand it you don't need to with subtitles and you still get the emotion, much better than with a dub... all depends on how lazy you are :)

Yes sure I know it is the more 'civilized' thing to use subtitles. But I'm just after a few cheap laughs by watching the dubbed version.

dawn - In Fear Her when Rose follows goes all mushy over that cat she sees wandering around the Doctor says he's "Not much of a cat person" after the whole Sisters of Plenitude thing.

Thanks for that, I can see that the cat nuns would put most people off the species in general. However, the Doctor does seem to universally be a dog person.

Can anyone on this site settle an argument for me? What make of vehicle do the Torchwood team drive? I can't find it mentioned anywhere and the pointless argument about it that I am currently enmeshed in is driving me nuts! (ie: range rover v 'other')

According to Wikipedia it's a Range Rover and I tend to trust the DW and TW pages on Wikipedia because they're very well maintained. However they could be wrong.

Thanks again Grace. I also thought it was a range rover to start with, but it looks like, in the later episodes that they switched to something else as their car has mysteriously developed a couple of fins on the back which weren't there in episode 1

I will amend my last comment, as after further viewing they seem to have replaced a standard range rover with a range rover sport at some point during the series
