Matt Likes 'Wood

Ahead of Torchwood's launch in the United States, Matt Roush of TVGuide has previewed the series online, and is mostly positive about what he's seen; "Over the years, I've somehow resisted the lure of the iconic British fantasy Doctor Who, in all of its incarnations. So imagine my surprise to be hooked on Torchwood, a cheeky and often startlingly adult spin-off."

AN AMERICAN BILLBOARD SHOWCASES TORCHWOOD
Located near the corner of La Brea and San Vicente in LA

Elsewhere, and I've made a mistake (yes, it sometimes happens!). Whilst previewing the Torchwood Region 1 DVD Boxset earlier this week I failed to notice that a Region 2 release has already been announced. The set is released November 19th across the UK with an RRP of £54.99 - although some online retailers, like play.com, are selling it for up to £10 cheaper.

The set will make an ideal Christmas present for any genre fans who haven't yet been converted to the Woodie way!

UPDATE: A 2 minute long trailer for Torchwood on BBC America can be found online here (many thanks to Mark for the heads up). The show debuts Saturday September 8th on the American cable network.

That billboard is not too far from me, I will have to go there and spraypaint a '.TV' on the end of it.

Just joking of course. Not that a spraypainted billboard would be much out of place in that neighborhood. I better go get my photo in front of it before the censor-happy ClearChannel replace it with an ad for one of their lousy radio stations.

There's another billboard on Sepulveda Blvd. around Pico or Olympic. I saw it the other day and cheered.
