Torchwood recieves two Award Nomintations

Bafta Cmyru, the Welsh division of the British Academy of Film and Television Awards, have announced the nominees for the 18th Annual BAFTA Cymru Film, Television and Interactive Media Awards. Torchwood has received two nominations. They are:

Best Design – Edward Thomas (For the episode “Adrift”)
Best Costume – Ray Holman (For the episode “From Out of the Rain”)

Meanwhile, Doctor Who received 9 nominations, including ones for Best Drama, Best Screenwriter and Best Director, while The Sarah Jane Adventures has been nominated for Best Children’s Programme.

The full list of nominations can be seen here.

EDIT:
Just on a side note, Torchwood is no stranger to these awards. In 2007, Bafta Cymru gave Torchwood the Best Drama Series award, while Eve Myles won the Best Actress award.

Whilst it's great the programme has been recognised by BAFTA, it's a shame it's for two of the show's weaker episodes.

Thanks for the update, Dave!

Nominated for Best Design for "Adrift"? With Jack's super-secret island hideaway? Really?

Well, I admit the peeling paint was aesthetically appealing. The dark, grim, water-stained walls? Gorgeous. Wire grids over the TV? Yes, please. And I'd really like to recreate the beaten-down-even-though-Jack-should-know-that-this-isn't-the-most-comfortable-place-for-traumatized-individuals atmosphere for my own place.

Hopefully whoever had to watch the show doesn't think every set looks like that. I mean, c'mon, look at the Hub, it's... oh, right. Nevermind.
