After weeks of waiting and months of speculation, the BBC would seem to have finally issued us with dates on which the third series of Torchwood will air. Kind of.
According to a press office release this morning on their website, the show has been included in the line up for "Week 27 - July 4th to July 10th". However, all five episodes are still listed as "Unplaced", in terms of exact days or times. Given the fact it will run for 5 straight nights and that it's been understood that it would be broadcast on weeknights, it's a fair guess to presume that this means the show will run Monday 6th to Friday 10th July.
(A bittersweet announcement/prediction for me personally, as I will be leaving for Spain on Friday morning, thus missing the last episode. DAMN YOU BBC!)

Apparently Hotel Babylon is still listed for Friday 10th so perhaps it will be Sun-Thurs for Torchwood
Finally!!! Surely the BBC will go mad with advertising it soon so hopefully will give us the exact dates! Role on July.

Not my most intelligent reply, but I just feel a sense of euphoria after waiting for so long. Still slightly annoyed at the wait, but having something solid for only a few weeks time is making me tingle with anticipation. After having seen the premiere last Friday, I have literally bitten off my fingers as a result of having to wait for so long to have that cliffie resolved...

so are they going to be hour long eps or the usual 50 minutes (or at least scheduled for that duration)? I'm guessing it will be difficult to place 50-minuters for 5 nights in a row...
Oh, and a small non-torchwood related annoyance - why in the TW episode guides on the bbc website have they credited peter capaldi with "skins" and not "the thick of it"? It was a bbc programme AND he had a starring role... are the beeb trying to disassociate itself with TTOI after that chris langham thing?

Okay, I have put in a Herculean effort, and read the entirety of this blog in the past two weeks. It's been about a month since I saw my first ep of Torchwood, which pulled me right in. I had no idea what to expect, I had just read about it on the SFGate.com tv critic's blog. Right along with Gwen, Capt. Jack swept me off my feet!
But, then I had to watch Series 1 of Doctor Who, so I could see when Jack was introduced. Watched the rest of Series 1 of TW and realized I would have to watch Series 2 & 3 of DW before I could watch Series 2 of TW, which I just finished last night! Whew - what a ride!!!
One thing I've noticed about the blog, is that there don't seem to be a lot of comments. Perhaps it's just due to the sheer volume of posts (you guys are blogging machines!!!) or the breaks between seasons, but I hope there will be much discussion after COE...most of which I will have to put off reading until after Ep 1 airs on 7/20 here in the US... I've only watched dvds - does BBC America cut the eps, or just silence the curse words?
Yikes, John Barrowman is going to be in my state and I can't go see him...I'm sure I'll feel the heat all the way up here in Northern California! (fanning myself)

J.M. Ferretti - I don't think you'll have to worry abou curse words in this next series. My general impression is that they are toning it down to appeal to a more general audiance. This could even be seen when you compared seasons 1 and 2. Rewatching season 1, the amount of swearing is a bit unnerving. I don't mind swearing (God knows, my language is filthy in real life) but it seemed quited forced. Nearly in a "We're an adult version of Dr. Who and we'll prove it....****! Yeah, Dr. Who never says things like that". It often led to stilled dialouge. Season 2 was much improved, and I'd imagine given how hard they are pushing this show (especially here where BBC are giving it amazing backing) that the language will be cut back even further.
I'm happy with that. It forces the writers to think up of darker storylines so they can still claim to be "adult" without the need for ott swearing.
Glad to hear you enjoyed watching all the series. I watched them myself in a completly bonkers order. TW2, Dr. Who 4, TW 1. Dr Who 1,2,3. My head was spinning by the end. But well worth it :D

Dave Dunne - thanks for the info. Personally, I don't care about the swearing, I was worried that BBC-A would edit the eps for content or time. I'd rather wait for the dvds if that's going to happen.
One other thing - you'll miss ep 5 because you're gonna be in Spain? Boo-frickin'-hoo! ;-D

in next week's Radio Times on the Radio info it states 'Captain Jack and the team before they arrive back on TV next week.'
On the Radio Times programming web page for 6th July 9pm 'to be announced'. Usually the tbas are changed on the thursday so we should all know later this week. Any thoughts as to what will be on the front cover of the Radio Times for that week?

Is anyone familiar with the radio play "Lost Souls"? I ordered it from Amazon, and am really looking forward to it. Aren't there 3 more airing next week? I wonder if I can download them from somewhere... Help!
