I'm on vacation so just time to give you a quick update on what the latest Doctor Who Magazine has revealed. There are now three new Torchwood episode titles. The Trouble with Lisa, Out of Time, and Virus. Chris Chibnal will be writing TTWL and it will be the 4th episode in the series. So if I remember correctly, this is what we know so far:
1. Flotsam and Jetsam by RTD
2. New Girl by Chris Chibnal
3. The Ghost Machine by Helen Raynor
4. The Trouble with Lisa by Chris Chibnal
8. Greeks Bearing Gifts by Toby Whithouse
?. Virus by Andrew Rattenbury
?. Out of Time by Cath Tregenna
?. Small Worlds by PJ Hammond
?. Combat by Noel Clarke
13. End of Days by Chris Chibnal
DWM also reported that Yasmin Bannerman, John Normington: Trevor Sigma and Adrienne O'Sullivan are listed as guest stars on Torchwood. Please follow up if you know more, as I'm late for a white-water rafting expedition.

Where's Jack?
Today the BBC released their first press release on WHO season 29 and gave an update on John Barrowman's involvement with it. I will spoil it below the photo, so now is your last chance to look away.

One line from the report says:
So, after Torchwood concludes this December, Captain Jack fans will just have to wait until July 2007 to see him again. But of course the BBC have never been misleading with any of their Doctor Who announcements in the past have they?

Returning cast members include John Barrowman who will be making an appearance in the series finaleThat's it, an appearance? Hmm, which sounds like the first 11 episodes of the 2007 season will be Jack free. Of course it is expected that the Doctor would want Freema all to himself for a while, but I think JB fans were hoping for the Captain to be a companion for at least the last half of the series.

Keep Jack in your pocket
Aren't you a little bit too old to be playing with toys? Well if you don't think so here is a peek at the forthcoming Captain Jack action figure by Character Options.

This Jack (not officially finalized) is planned to come out with their third wave of figures later this year. He is not quite as buff as the season 27 Jack figure but he has it where it counts. Not to worry, you can just tell the girl at the toy shop counter that you are buying it for your kid.

The Institute will have a DOG
Torchwood won't have K-9 but they will have their own DOG. This slow news weekend gives me the chance to start a campaign against the BBC3 logo DOG or BUG that will likely deface the screen during Torchwood broadcasts.

I know I am not the first to complain about the Digital Originated Graphics (DOG) on BBC3 and louder voices have not convinced them to change it. The viewing masses just can't stay quiet any longer damnit. I really don't mind DOGs (a better acronym is Distracting Onscreen Graphics) if they are small, in the bottom right corner and translucent. That way they do the job of IDing the station without getting in the way. The BBC3 DOG is big, 1/3 of the way in on the top, and opaque.
I do know some of the BBC brass check up on this page, so here is our chance to stand together and fight the power! Sign your name in the comments if you choose to be part of this great simmering movement against the DOG! (Well at least during Torchwood broadcasts)

HD or not HD, that is the question
Don't be alarmed by reports today saying there is a major crisis and consequential delay on the production of Torchwood because what has come out of the BBC HD cameras hasn't looked right. It sounds like Sci-Fi Pulse is trying to grab a bit of attention on a slow news week with a very old non-story.
Yes, it's true the original plans were to shoot in HD and yes it's true they had to scrap that. But this all happened months ago, very early in production. Torchwood.TV is happy to report our team in Cardiff is still right on schedule for a late October premiere.
Update: click on the comments as 2 anonymous people say it's still HD, they just changed the brand of HD cameras. Plus there is a new official page on Torchwood at BBC Wales Southeast.
